Homer was a Poet

A long time ago, I learned that my Mawmaw's dad (Homer) liked to write. The only thing of his I could find to read was a poem he wrote to Mawmaw and Aunt Donna when they got married.

Recently I found another poem by him in the newspaper archives on the Vernon Parish Library (VPL) website.

A couple of other things he wrote can be found in the upstairs collections at the VPL, hopefully, when they reopen I can get in to see them.

And during my search for more poems by Homer I found several mentions of his name in the archives:
